A Fall Favorite

One of our favorite things to do every fall is head to Flat Rock, NC and spend an afternoon at Sky Top Orchard!  Graham and I started going before Wells was born and then took him when he was only weeks old!  He now loves it as much as we do!  If you've never gone, add it to your list for next fall!  We highly recommend it!

a BOO! recap

Halloween seemed to sneak up on us and FLY by us this year!  Is anyone else having a hard time believing that Thanksgiving is next week?  Anywho, here are some fun pictures from our Halloween season!

Halloween party at Grandma's!

Fun at the Taylors First Baptist Fall Fest!
Carving "punkins" with Daddy!
Most of the Stepp cousin clan at Papa and MiMi's church carnival!
"Mom, look who I found trick-or-treating...my babysitter MEG!"
Trick-or-treating with Emma Gray, aka: Minnie and eating as we ride!
Checking on "Jack" before bedtime!

And that's about it folks!  Hope you had a Halloween full of more treats than tricks!

Face to Face

How many pictures do you have like this...two people smiling shoulder to shoulder for the camera?  If you're anything like us I'm imagining you have a ton!  And don't get me wrong, it's not a bad pose for a picture.  But, how does this stance work for a marriage?  My husband challenged me/us with a message he listened to last week.  Mark and Grace Driscoll have this to say about marriage:
A shoulder-to-shoulder marriage is one in which the couple works together on tasks and projects, such as keeping the home, raising the kids, growing the business, and serving the church.
A face-to-face marriage is one in which, in addition to the shoulder-to-shoulder work, the couple gets a lot of face-to-face time for conversation, friendship, and intimacy.
Hmm, anyone else feeling like it's easy to get caught up in life's demands for a shoulder-to-shoulder marriage?  I mean, with everything else going on isn't that daily conversation with your spouse usually the easiest thing to cut out?  My challenge to you, spend some time FACE-TO-FACE!  I guarantee that it'll be worth it...
to everyone in your family!

You looking for us?
If so, you're faithful...and for that, thank you!
I know it's been a while...

Tee is One!

On October 1st my sweet nephew Tee turned ONE!  First birthdays are always special but this little guy's day was extra special.  Tee was born prematurely weighing in at 4 lbs. 6 oz.  He put his mommy on bedrest after causing quite a health scare and then had to spend some time in NICU.  So...you can see why we were so excited to celebrate his day!
This was Tee on his birthday last year!
And this was the Birthday Boy this year!
What a difference a year makes!
Here are some more shots from the birthday bash:
 The Party's Here!
 Buckets full of fun!
 Loving the balloons!
Perfect time for family photo-ops! :)
Star of the show!
Here's to a really special year Tee!  We love you!

September Highlights!

Phew, that went fast!  Who can believe that it's already October!  Here's a little look into our September!
We spent a few lazy days outside doing things like this:
Looking for airplanes, "panes" as Wells calls them!
 Playing ball with Daddy!
 Having a little down time!
 Daydreaming!
And loving!

We also celebrated the big TWO!  I know I've already talked about it but here are just a few pics from the big day!
 Good morning Birthday Boy!
Wells is excited to see his present!
 Mickey came to play! :)
Birthday Pancakes, excuse the tea light, someone did not plan ahead! ;)
 Family birthday celebration!
(We opted out of the big party scene this year!)
Yummy birthday icecream with D.D.!
He LOVED opening presents this year!
A laptop all for Wells!  The boy loves electronics!
Fun stuff!  Goodbye September!  Here's to a great October!

Tear

I read this over at one of my girlfriend's blogs, and it brought a tear to my eye!  Not a tear of regret, but more of a cry for help..."God, it's going too fast!  Make me slow down!  Help me remember as much as I can of this precious little creature we call Wells!"  Thanks so much Nat for the reminder! :)

Someone has a very special day coming this Sunday!  And to help celebrate my little guy's 2nd birthday I thought I would share with you some memories from 2 years ago!  (So hard to believe it's already been that long!)
Graham and I so ready to meet our little bundle of joy!
And so ready to know if the bundle comes in pink of blue...
And these folks were waiting too! (some of Wells' faithful fans are not pictured below!)
And here comes Graham...running to tell the news!
It's a BOY!
