Kat's Girls Weekend!

Katherine, my middle sister is getting married in just over two weeks!  So, last weekend all of Kat's special girls headed up to Lake Keowee to celebrate!  This was not your typical Bacherlorette Party and I must tell you, it was better!  Take a look for yourself and you'll see what I mean!
We slumbered here...one word, WOW!

We watched movies in the home theatre!
Sex and the City 2...the perfect choice!
We had chefs for Saturday night!
Chef Mark and Chef Patrick
We took a cooking class!
Bon Appetit!
We made dessert, Paula Deen style!  Just look at all of that butter!
Our very own homemade dinner...which included hand-made tortellini!
And we ate the most unbelievable Banana's Foster....ever!

So, was I right or what?  This wasn't your typical Bacherlorette Party!  However, we did manage to pull in a few traditions!
We hung the infamous "Bacherlorette Banner"!
We ate sweets and had a few cocktails! ;)
We had a lingerie shower!  And Kat wore some very tasteful favors!

We chilled out at the bar!
We wore matching t-shirts!
We had girl time with girl talk!
And we posed for pictures, of course!

It's almost time for the big day!  The count-down is on!  And I can't wait!  Here's to Kat....the future Mrs. Westmoreland!

Roses are Red

I am always a little sad on Monday nights when The Bachelor goes off.  That was a totally ridiculous comment I know but it's the truth!  And, another really silly fact is I swore I WOULD NEVER watch the show again after the whole Jason/Melissa/Molly drama!  But, who I am kidding?  I am a sucker for awkward dates, fantasy suites, cocktail parties, and rose ceremonies!  So here I sit again...totally hooked!  And totally smitten with Brad Womack.  Gasp!  I think he's the real deal!  And I just can't wait to see who he is going to choose!
Here's who we have left:
Chantal-
Hmmm....Chantal is an interesting one for me!  I really liked her in the beginning but I have found myself liking her less and less.  I do, however, think that Brad really likes her.  We'll see!

Emily-
Emily Maynard The Bachelor 2011
Oh, sweet Emily!  It seems as if she and Brad are already in love!  She's got my vote for sure!  And I have to ask, am I the only one who was totally impressed with her house?

Ashley-
Contestant Ashley Hebert from The Bachelor 15 with Brad Womack 2011
I don't have much to say ole Ashley.  I mean, I kinda thought she was already a dentist...that was weird!  That's really all I've got on her!

3 weeks left!  And only 1 more rose ceremony where Chris Harrison will announce, "Ladies, Brad, this is the final rose of the evening."  (The most annoying part of the entire show I might add!)
Roses are red.

            Shawntel is blue.

                     I think he'll pick Emily.

                                 What about you?

To you...

Dear Wells,
I was away from you all weekend and I thought about YOU a lot!  Before you were born I would go away with your daddy or for a girls' weekend and my thoughts would be focused on...well, me!  I would be so much more consumed with the thoughts of what I would eat or drink and what to wear that I would usually forget to fully embrace the experience at hand.  However, now when I am away from you things are not the same!  I look at the world in a completely different way!
I cherish the time that I spend without you.  I know that sounds backward and almost hurtful but it isn't at all.  You see, I don't just leave you on a whim.  When you are not around it is usually because I am with some of the greatest and most precious people in my life.  I have become very peculiar about the things and people that take me away from you.  I cherish my treasured relationships and I hope that you will do the same!  And I realize that time is not to be wasted...especially time away from you!
I now find myself constantly looking at things on a Wells' scale.  If I travel somewhere beautiful I dream of the places that you will travel one day.  If I eat a delicious meal I wonder what meals you will devour.  When I am talking to my girlfriends about life, love, and marraige I wonder who the Lord has designed to talk to about you!  My desire for you to see life and the world has given me a new reason to dream for myself!
You see Buddy, time away from you is God's way of recharging my batteries.  And it's His way of showing me that time without you is rejuvenating and necessary but He also shows me that life with you is thoughtful and inspiring!  I realize that being your Mom makes me want to be the best me that I can be!
Thanks for the time away!
I love you!
Ma (your version of Mommy)

Something Sweet and Something Sour!

Sweet:
Wells had his first experience with white chocolate on Valentine's Day!  His Mi Mi made these precious heart suckers and Wells was quite the fan.  I have the pictures to prove it!
(Don't judge for the little bit of supper left on his cheek!  Life is just sometimes easier that way!)

Love the red drool as he runs back for more!
One happy boy!  In LOVE with his heart sucker!
The little teeth marks just trip me out!
And even funnier was the sugar high that followed!  I sure wish I had video documentation of Wells post sucker!

That was sweet, right!  Now for the Sour:

The victim....

The culprit...

What do you have when you mix apple juice and pink Blackberry?
Me, without a phone!
Sour, right?

I'm With the Cows....

Graham had an appointment in Georgia today so we decided we'd make it a family road trip!  Wells got to watch his favorites in the car which include Dora and Mickey and Graham and I had a few hours to talk!  While Graham worked Wells and I headed to the BEST place to eat on the road...Chick-fil-a!  Seriously, this place is amazing for kiddos!  They not only serve Diet Dr. Pepper (which is just a huge bonus!) but they also totally cater to families!  With their yummy chicken, delicious "Ice Dream", friendly service that includes taking your tray for you while you carry your squirming toddler, indoor play-ground, and Christian tunes I have to say, I'm with the cows!  "Eat Mor Chiken!"
